Chardonnay

NEW RELEASE! A very traditional style of Chardonnay, made only in exceptional vintages from our finest parcels of Chardonnay fruit. A wine for true Chardonnay devotees.

This wine commemorates the late Eileen Mary Tulloch, who married Hector Tulloch in 1941 and passed away in 2004. Eileen was an integral part of creating Tulloch's success in the Australian wine industry and this wine is a fitting memorandum of her, given its elegance and traditional styling.

The Chardonnay grapes used to make this wine were grown on our new Glen Elgin vineyard in the heart of Pokolbin and from our vines on the eastern sloping hills overlooking the Hunter River at Denman. French oak hogshead, both new and one year old, were used to mature this nicely balanced wine, which can be carefully cellared for some years to come.

Pale straw in colour this wine has a complex nose of nectarine and peach, backed by citrus and baked bread aromas with hints of straw and spicy oak. An elegant wine with a complex, creamy mouthfeel and a good intensity of flavour. It is balanced by a fine acid line and a long lingering finish. $28/ bottle at cellar door.

The best with a traditional roast chicken with all the trimmings or a rich, creamy pasta sauce.
